Corpotubers have to get rights done etc, talk with management about it to ensure they arent gonna ruin image, but surely you knew about it?
Indietubers have free reign, only when its #ad or some kind of sponsor deal that they have a leash.

Getting perms is a pain in the ass. From the girl's perspective, she either has to nag her manager to get a specific game she wants to play or pick from something already available. From the manager's perspective, they would rather get perms for something everyone will play than get something for only one girl.
There is also a positive feedback loop with shitty horrors going on. Corpo vtubers streamed so many of them that when a new one comes out, people expect girls to play it.

The worst thing about them is how smug they get about their favorite vtuber being "more successful", as if they had anything to do with it. They have no personal successes to speak of so they have to take someone else's success and live vicariously through it.
