It's not just the viewers, nobody in the company, even her own gen, really knows her all that well. It would be uncharitable to describe her inner personality as 'frigid', but this is just a harsher way of saying 'reserved and detached' , which are quite accurate descriptions. Within the first year of her streaming, I saw deviations from this and moments of genuine pure warmth and passion. I've let myself be fooled before and I will do it again but I know deep down these are illusionary flashes.
The critical juncture where her attitude permanently changed towards her content and her fans was the period around the 2nd anniversary last August.
It should be fairly obvious by now that she has always been more of a professional livestreamer than a Hololive Otaku. I hate to think that the Cover Corp scouting department could ever make a mistake, but as the years go on and new deeply passionate generations come about, I can't help but feel that something went wrong. A certain unease not many felt when they debuted has now become an unavoidable and unignorable malaise.
Basically, my crude theory is that she is sick of the job, not built for it, intolerant of some aspects of it, but intrinsically unable to turn away the boons and powers and riches. Same as Gura. If anyone has a sound and level headed idea different from mine please respond.
