ID took years of buildup starting before EN existed, if an expansion into Europe followed the same trajectory you wouldn't expect it to do well until 2030 at this point. It's just weird that they've left it so long when it's a huge market for both streaming (more twitch viewers than NA) and manga/anime (more revenue than NA)

EU (and even some non-EU countries like the UK, Switzerland, Norway etc) have very strong consumer protections and heavy regulations about what info companies can keep on customers. I think that's probably the issue - they'd have to hire a team dedicated to these regulations because the EU will issue them massive fines if they make a mistake.

GDPR is generally alot harsher than other similar laws on the books elsewhere, and more importantly it actually has teeth because the EU actually hands out significant fines for breaches, unlike most other countries where they don't really give a shit unless you start selling patient info for money

There’s Kiara and Shiori on the weekends. You can already make an account and buy voice packs from the main site, so they should be compliant with it. If they hire someone from europe, Cover probably has to follow the local work laws more closely rather than GDPR.

So to me, a layman, it sounds like the strategy is to have a consistent and frequent streaming schedule for the first year or two, to establish a marketable brand name, then, if you wish, can take a more loose scheduling while your IP does most of the heavy lifting.

The biggest problem is that talents are not like Mickey Mouse and will want to move on at some point. When that happens, the model will be retired and can't be used anymore. I can't imagine how stressful being in Hololive can be since you have to pretty much hide everything.
