>>75736177What worries me the most is the though that game development will appeal to the "light fandom"; there's this recurring idea that Holo Earth will become big enough as a game to be a self-supporting project independent of Hololive even though their past gamedev (Hololive Error) and HoloIndie have mostly appealed to the core fandom only. I've seen no evidence Holoearth's story or gameplay will set it apart from the crowd, apart from the hololive content it's a 3D RPG with some survival-craft features, and the hololive content is mostly going to appeal to the core and middle fandom. They should be focusing on using it as a platform to optimize the quality and profitability of streaming concerts rather than continuing under the impression the game elements will reach new fans but they seem incapable of doing that.
Also a Hololive anime (assuming a full-length tv anime, not shorts like Hologra) might reach some "light" fans who watch seasonal shows, but would probably also be a money pit considering most anime is supported by core fans buying merch and blu-rays and not the people watching on TV or Crunchyroll, but Hololive already has very financially engaged core fans so this could be squeezing blood from a stone. Also, if you give major roles to Hololive members, that's going to either replace stream time or concert/music recording time with time in the VA booth, while if you give them smaller roles you risk ending up making another Kizuna no Allele
