>>75967450When you are a public figure, your actions and words have consequences that are longer lasting and further reaching than you could ever imagine. It is your responsibility to police your actions and words such that they do not unintentionally affect others.
The ex-Nijis who understands this perfectly well are Mint, Doki and Michi to a lesser extent. Doki has said absolutely nil nada zilch about Niji ever since the termination. Mint has made very few allusions, if at all, to any previous connections. Michi has done well to make her mentions relatively few and handled the thing about tax fairly gracefully. All three are expressing, through actions and not words, that they are done and would nothing more than to move on.
Current Niji cannot be given the benefit of the doubt because you know damn well they wanna say something to clear this air. The stench of “did you bully her?” infests the atmosphere surrounding their entire brand, and their repeated missteps in public spaces have done nothing to vouch for their character otherwise. Most importantly, some people (i.e., Vox) have demonstrated their willingness to weaponize their fanbase. Others (i.e., Hex) are perfectly willing to hide behind their fanbase like a shield.
There are decent Nijis. But you have no responsibility or obligation to defend these people. They are grown adults working under a multi-billion corporation. They should be able to defend themselves and take the hits to the chin.
If Selen can attempt on her life twice and come back swinging after getting kicked to the curb by people she’s known and worked alongside for 2-3 years, then these Nijis can just chant “sticks and stones” for a few months and weather the storm.
