Am I the only one on this board who hates reincarnation? It's so dumb as a concept to me, that once a vtuber graduates or gets dropped from a group they can choose a completely different avatar while remaining functionally the same, and get rewarded for it. What's even the point of following their journey as an idol or entertainer if they can just change personas like a skinsuit? It comes across as dishonest and immersion-breaking, because everyone is obviously in on the joke but they also pretend the PL just... didn't exist?

Here's what I don't get. Why has not a single vtuber ever tried to hang on to their model (or just IP in general) instead of reincarnating as another thing entirely? You're really telling me that can't happen in either direction? Why follow an indie if they'll just stop making content, disappear for a while and then reemerge as someone else? Now the character doesn't matter anymore, might as well drop kayfabe and learn about their roommate since that's what everyone really cares about.

Then why give a shit? What are we doing watching these people when their whole existence is driven by profit motives? Might as well just forget there's a model on the screen, since it clearly means nothing long-term.
