or, run it like this: 'youtube-dlc --hls-use-mpegts --no-part [URL]' and then you can press ctrl+c as soon as the stream is over. but you'll get an MPEG-TS file that you really ought to remux into a normal MPEG-4 video container.
oh and if the stream goes over six hours then it'll die. so start a second one at like 5:50, i guess. there's a guy in /t/ who's working on a tool that removes that limitation.
