>>77974568No, wildly different. In the CR cup IIRC there's only like 2 points at stake for a "captain challenge", not nearly enough to overturn the results of a team stomp. I'll take the Team B (Kuzuha) vs C (Naraka) match as an example since that's where the problem happened.
Team C won every fight against Team B in straight bouts except for Naraka vs Kuzuha, putting them at 4 - 2 (captain match being 2 points at stake).
They then had to do three sets of best of 1 comeback matches against Team B.
Honhima from Team B won one match against Naraka for a 2 point bounty, making the score 4-4.
Botan and Inami Rai from Team C won their respective matches so they avoided losing anymore points.
Because of the score now being the same, Naraka was then pitted against Kuzuha yet again and lost, making it 5-4.
Usually, at this point this means the team's aggregate points would be 4 points.
However, since Naraka lost her match against Honhima, she had two points deducted from her team, leaving Team C with a score of 2, while Team B got 3 points.
This meant Team C was forced into a situation where they had to play a fully perfect game against Team A to even have a chance of winning the tourney despite generally dominating Team B in most of the fights, and even then they would still have to deal with the comeback challenge.
In the Team C vs Team A fight, it ended with a score of 3-3 and Team C again lost the sudden death tiebreaker. The comeback privilege is waived in event of a tie in favor of holding the tiebreaker so it was the worst situation for them where they couldn't even get a chance at second place.
Anyway, other tournaments don't have rules this complicated and for good reason.
