To access Forneus you have to active the Vanguard by finding the power source (dolphin statue), finding the hidden door under the mayor, and resolving the warring magic towns so you have people to pilot the Vanguard.
Aunas needs to be found in the fire temple within the maze like forest at the tribal Town Ache. Allcoes has to be found at the bottom of the Archfiend Palace which she has been into but you need to touch the door with the ring imprint first, then receive the matriarch ring from the matriarch ancestor. Bune is at the top of the mountain, but if you unlocked Tiny village and didn't kill the dragon, after you beat one of the three archfiends you can ride the dragon to fight her. Or defeat the other three archfiends and the fog on the mountain will clear.
She can take on one of the archfiends right now, as long as it isn't Forneus.
