>>87927369Cause lasguns are cheaper to produce and easier to maintain, and even the lightest of space marine guns is pretty rough for a normal human to use, heavier weapons will rip their arms off guaranteed, or are too rare to place in some schmucks hands. There's like a million guard soldiers to a single space marine.
And in defense of lasguns, a single shot is supposed to be enough to vaporize a guys shoulder or thereabouts. Problem is, aliens are not "guys" and the important aliens are way tough than a human, or way harder to hit.
