I've had jobs in the past that required me to make concessions in my personal life. Not directly, but in a "you really shouldn't" sort of way. You know what I did? I accomodated it and accepted the job, because I wanted the money.
I guess I just don't understand what the big deal is with these kinds of expectations, even if I don't personally have them. I just want people to minimize confrontation, not exacerbate it, man. It's the same way that I don't blame a person for getting stabbed in the bad part of town at night, but would ideally prevent people from going to the bad part of town at night. Blaming the stabber doesn't change the fact that some dudes get stabbed.
