2 broken expensive cards, one that was FUBAR from the start and another one that slowly deteriorated because of her PCIe slot having a bent and not holding the card properly, its just really awful luck.
She held the first PC for parts instead of RMAing when she got the other setup "in case she needed it", she's not the sharpest tool in the shed. Then the second prebuilt, she didn't open it to check if the card was properly attached, probably because she was afraid of messing around with it since she had problems with the first one.
Right now what she could do is buy an AMD card that is as good as a 3080 like 6800 XT, send her PC with the 3080 to RMA (she still has time), then sell it on ebay or something when its back, because its gonna take some time. RMA can take up to a month.
