It's not that expensive. A meal here is like $10. I got a bacon cheddar cheeseburger with a single patty for $10.17 for lunch today from Wendy's. (It was terrible should have got the baconator) but converted to yen its around the same price. Plus Japan has to import their meat so naturally prices are a little higher.

Nijisanji is Dragon Quest while Hololive is Final Fantasy. Both are popular on it's own right in it's homeland but DQ can't break the western market like FF did because it's "too japanese". At least in my headcanon.

A lot of people here are new and don't realize Hololive's meteoric rise has only been a year or so. Back around 2019 Hololive was still a second-rate agency probably behind even the likes of .Live and upd8. It takes time to build business network which Niji has a first-mover advantage in nipland.
