>>97570665There's definitely blame to be put on gamefeak, the switch is a console that is stupid powerful compared to previous consoles Pokemon games were on, yet the games feel like they're not nearly as in depth as before, old pokemon becoming DLC, graphics looking like garbage compared to other Switch games, new mechanics feeling more like gimmicks than actual mechanics, etc.
Hell, funnily enough, the last time I actually enjoyed a Pokemon game were the gen 4 remakes SPECIFICALLY because they were very close to how those games were originally except they actually had some amount of a challenge to them.
