The problem with the surgery is there's a risk of fucking PARALYSIS of everything below that part of the spine. If something happens to Wawa, I don't know how she'll deal with it. I can't see Wawa in a wheelchair. I think there's some less-invasive laminotomy (not laminectomy) that just shaves part of the vertebrae without needing to remove the entire neural arch.
I'm genuinely worried we'll have our first real wheelchair Holo.
