>>2200038>only like 2% of trans people regret surgeries or HRT and most who end up detransitioning did so due to social pressure>source -my ass.It takes a lot of commitment to mutilate your genitals or permanently screw up your bodies development. I don't buy it for one second that you would "de-transition" after already overcoming that hurdle from social pressure. It's absurd that there is even an argument that we should be allowing people to mutilate their bodies. Cutting is considered a mental illness, anorexia is a mental illness, bulimia is a mental illness. We don't suggest to solve these by giving into those peoples delusions. WE GIVE THEM ACTUAL HELP.
>how is Shinji and Kaworu's relationship less of a plot point than Kaoru? He only appears in one episode as it's suicide victim of the week. While correct that both are featured in about 1 episode. Wonder Egg basically portrays it blatantly like:
>hi im a tranny and i killed myselfmeanwhile NGE has a much more natural and less intrusive way. While both shows have internal struggles with connections to other people as a prevalent theme, and coming a going of new characters the protagonists age is not uncommon. NGE is more subtle with "making it gay." In NGE, Shinji is alone (rei, Asuka, and his friends are either physically or emotionally unavailable due to story driven reasons) and Kaworu appears and is kind and understanding to Shinji, allowing Shinji to open up a little more than he usually does to other people. I think the main thing that really sells it is that you know the background of at least one of the characters and you understand why Shinji might be bi, or at least curious.
