You can't install his icons like a normal icon pack. You have to copy the icons over to your phone and apply them one by one on the homescreen. Pic is sort of related on how you would go about applying the icons.

Most popular launcher according to the app store is nova. If you don't want to pay for the full version apex will give you more features for free IIRC. They are both near identical launchers so get ether one.

Just one more question though, I tried asking this in the phone wallpaper thread but I had no response whatsoever, so.. I'll try here in hope that someone can help me out.

I've been trying to find the Angel Beats! logo but with a dark grey or black background with dimensions set for a homescreen but to no avail..

Sadly I do not have the skills to do something like that on my own, but since it's a somewhat common theme, maybe someone here already did it for themselves and posted it somewhere sometime?

Worth a shot to ask.

Then why not get a better phone? Nexus has low end hardware. The only redeeming thing is you get pure android and updates ASAP. Maybe I've been spending too much time on /g/

This guy is right. For the price phones that come close are more money. But that still not a good reason (in my book) to justify flashing a ROM when you have stock android, kitkat at that. Maybe when the phone is older like the galaxy nexus or even nexus 4 I would flash to get more life out of it. But getting the latest version of android only to toss it aside for 4..3 or a buggy 4.4 hack seems pointless.

Nope. You can be unrooted and 100% stock and still rice an android. Just get apex launcher (free) and some icons. then play with UCCW.

Also the cyanogenmod app that you were looking for got removed from the play store. It violated the play store ToS. You can still get it from cyanogenmods website I think. But you really don't need it to rice.

Is there any way to make scrolling between workspaces not look so bad? I'm using Holo Launcher and FiveWallpapers, the problem is that no matter what transitional effect I chose, the widgets slide with the sliding motion but the wallpapers just instantly change once I'm fully done sliding. It looks really clunky.

Your dock icons are getting cut off. Make your icon size smaller, and if you are going to use the dock hide the divider as well, it puts a bar right through the character. An as the other guy said, way to much white.

I assume you mean you got the Nexus 4. I'm using the free version of Apex with Scopics icons. I'm also using a framework app that's exclusively for the LG G2 that makes my status bar transparent when I'm on the home screen.

I would rather have it completely hidden, but with the G2 I can double tap the bar to turn off the screen instead of hitting the power button. I can also change the navbar color and transparency with the app but I like it solid black.

If you're a newfag I doubt you're willing to to flash custom ROMs just to rice, so I recommend you look into the Xposed Framework. You have to root, but that's really easy with step by step instructions. Search around and find apps that allow you to farther customize your phone.

Unrooted, Apex and Uccw. Buttons are static text sized 3x1 and added in a custom font. A white transparent background with the corresponding hotspot.
The buttons were made first which I then took a screenshot to photoshop to make the border so it would alight correctly. The clock, battery and temperature was all UCCW as well.

I copied the style of >>1603645 for UCCW clock since I really liked it so thanks for that.

Now I'm kinda confused on what to add more. The screen on the right is my default screen, I kinda wanna add some icons to the top since I believe it's too empty right now, however I can't figure out how to change icon colors, since I'm using Tiny White Icon Pack and it doesn't appear to allow any kind of customization.

I'd probably also wanna add a third screen for a music player/something else, but I have no idea what music player/widgets to get. PowerAMP seems to be out of question since it just crashes for what ever reason.

The only way I can think of is grabbing the icons you want to use and changing the colour on photoshop or something. http://www.iconsdb.com/white-icons/. Then change the icon through gallery images.

I read that first post wrong. You can only get the one gmail to work in UCCW. The other 5 non gmail accounts will not show up. The unread count badges would still work, but not for an individual account. You would get a mass unread number over the 5 accounts.

Finally finished watching Canaan. No clue why I waited so long to finish it. I started it back in March, got busy with life then forgot all about it. First show I watched that made me change from a gundam theme to something else. Other changes I made from now and the last thread: flashed CM10.2 because my warranty expired so I'm not at a loss flashing roms anymore. Runs faster than the stock rom did, but my battery life is almost 1/2 of what I got on stock.

Its the stock android lock screen. If you have a nexus or are running a custom rom (cyanogenmod, slim roms, AOKP, and so on) you probably are using this same lockscreen. If you have a samsung, htc, etc that is using stock firmware then you have what ever lockscreen spin they bundled with that device.

First off no shit its dynamic its based on a live wallpaper. Secondly not every android has this. They stopped including the "nexus" live wallpaper as it is called when 4.0 started rolling out. They replaced it with phase beam. The wallpaper its self is just fine. But you will notice the lines are put over either a plain black, a black/grey gird, or a black to gray gradient. As soon as you put a regular image behind the lines it looks bad.

One solid hard piece of plastic. It snaps on the back and is a pain to take off. The plastic is not as cheap as it looks. Its a lot like the stock back plate just much thicker. It goes all around the edge of the phone. you cant see the silver ring around the front of the phone at all. I would take a pic but I only have the cellphone camera...so its hard to see it in use...

If you are running a custom rom you normally have "2" pull down menus. The quick settings that are accessed by pulling down by the clock, and the notifications by pulling on the left side. That face with the 5 squares around it in the upper right switches between the two. The words "no notifications" are not present if there are no notifications. Its not a module thing, just a rom thing.

No clue. There are just too many out there. Some are device exclusive, others are forks on other popular ROMs, and most share the same features. I recently started using CM 10 on my gs3 and it has the same style notification. So if you are new to the ROM flashing process they have a program that will make it stupidly simple. Assuming your phone is compatible with the ROM.

The print is not terrible but its what you should expect for $15

The picture I uploaded was a vectored image so the lines and colors were very crisp and well defined. The case its self is kind of fuzzy. Like if you were to compare an image colored in with a crayon to something colored with a marker. The image seems to be under a very glossy (fingerprint magnet) clear coat of some kind so the image is not going to rub off. Unfortunately it looks like I got a grain of sand or something under that clear coat. So just like with a gameboy screen after years of use there is that "dirt" that you cant remove. Ill try to take a macro shot of it to help explain it better. If the image turns out good enough Ill post it for you, but getting that close tends to block all the light, and the flash just crates a big glare.

I recently picked up a GS4. This my second one though because I had difficulty flashing CWM into GS4 because there were no clear cut methods that worked for the MJ7 models... ended up hard-bricking it so I am a little hesitant in flashing CWM into my GS4. I forget exactly how I got it, but the process was for the most part automated for me. I think I just installed ROM manager and used the flash CWM option. I need to stop tinkering when I'm running on 3 hours of sleep. Insomnia is a bitch.

Its not a necessary process to flash a new rom, but its highly recommended to backup the working stock rom just in case.

I got a mouse pad from the as well. I saw a warning that said the print will be darker than the image so I upped the contrast a lot. I like how it came out. The phone case was a lot darker than expected though. I can't really comment on how that image will look on another case though. I don't know how much of a difference there would be. I only used two colors, I have no idea how they would treat all those used in your pic.

Here's the best picture I could get. Because I'm indoors the image has more noise than I want, but you can compare the "fuzz" from that's over the nexus 7 off to the side and see what the case adds. That dot between the eva's chin and neck is one of the "grains of sand" I was talking about. Its small and hard to see from an arms distance, but when you really look at it pops out.

So I just tried out the silverlight customizer option for artcow and boy does the image look extremely blurry. I'll have to find a vector like you did and somehow make it a lot simpler. That grain of sand is quite unfortunate and pretty noticable.

I didn't see that sand thing till after I had wiped off all the finger prints and stuff. It blended into the packing dust, and pocket lent pretty well. Once its pointed out its all you see. I had a guy at work who noticed the new case and said he liked how it looked. It wasn't till I pointed that spot out till he realized it. If I could send it back and get the matte finish I would be filing out the return paperwork right now.

Upon further research, I can see that you can use an app on the GPlay store called "Goo Manager." I was wondering if this actually works?

Like I said before, ROM Manager claimed to have flashed CWM but was never able to successfully boot into recovery both manually and through the program, so that's why I am a little hesitant in installing it through an app through the store.

So along with my phone being the 4.3 MJ7 Model, I've thankfully found out that flashing through Goo Manager will not work... in fact it might hard brick it as well...

I'm looking to see if ODIN will be able to push the img file and work but I haven't found any information on that yet either. I guess I can wait for now.

Quick question: So when you back up data, system, etc, on TWRP, then flash CM, how do you re-add that data such as contacts, launcher, and icons?

I've never had to rely on a back up. I have my contacts synced with my google account, and my apps are added automatically upon activating my google account on that phone. In the off chance they are not added, I just use the google play website from my pc and install them to the phone that way because its faster that way. I use scope's inverted icons so I have to copy that over anyway. Normally when I flash a new rom Its because I want to start fresh. Go back to stock and add only what I want/need. I notice a lot of times there are games and apps I touched for a week or two then they go unused for a year.

It seems upon further research that there is no specific TWRP flashing available for the new MJ7 update. I'll run stock with Xposed Framework for now.

I just read up many times through XDA that the bootloader is indeed locked for the MJ7 update, even to this day... so no custom recoveries for me. Although you did say you could flash CWM without a custom recovery but I wouldn't want to take that risk.

I mean, one minute it's working perfectly, the next no hotspot would work, it's like I'm tapping on nothing. But the widget is definitely recognised as I can long press and move it around the homescreen and the numbers would go up if I get a missed call, both of which doesn't fix the no hotspot issue.

It's really temperamental, it would just randomly stop or start working again and I have no idea what triggers it.
