You can also use latest version of winaerotweaker to completely change your default system font. Went with Roboto since I'm used to it.
The logon background on start up can also be changed to whatever you want.
Also, you can skip typing in your password and go straight to desktop upon power up/restart if you're the only one using the computer, shaves off a few tedious seconds.

I don't line them up. I don't use a tiling manager either. They're floating windows that snap to a grid. Pre-defined positions are bound to numpad to shuffle them around without using the mouse.
