I also took a lot of pictures my phone, to show my family while I was abroad
Depending on what you want to study, it's definitely a possibility
My girlfriend will finish her studies there (her school is half japanese), and a friend of her's has been there for some years studying music
Kyoto is pretty unique in just how much tradition has been kept there
They even have a law that says you can't build buildings higher than the highest pagoda (or traditional building) in the city, to preserve the cityscape
There's so much to see, it's hard not to miss anything, even staying long
We were lucky enough to stay for 6 months, and visit many places for weeks to months at a time, and yet it feels as though we've only scratched the surface!
