I'm trying to take steps to be happy but wouldn't consider myself happy
A good job is a job that doesn't cause misery. Jobs rarely will make you happy unless you associate your job with your purpose in life
Like you say, being happy is really about the people you are with, even for an introvert. I'm kinda lonely sometimes / need to find more people who share my interests.
Be careful not to let your job change your personality too much. Be aware of how your profession/industry is shaping your values and beliefs. Would someone be able to guess your opinions simply by knowing your profession?
Some people become consumed by their work and they claim to "love" their job. In reality, their job just becomes a busy distraction to prevent them from going insane
