>What do you do for a living
Midlevel at a private equity firm
Artist by night, amateur cook after I get past the half point on a fifth
>How much do you make? And what's your quality of life
Around half a mil, work like hell, but i’ve wanted to work in finance since sometime in my teens
>Are you happy?
As happy as I can get? This question is hard to answer, I don’t think I’ve felt super joyful in years, but I’d say I feel decent
>What would you change, career or other, if you could?
I would change how much I travel, i wish I was in the air more, staring down on everything from above, being awake at 3am with just a few people around, i wish I could work in Japan again, worked till I passed out out of college for shit pay, but I was super happy there. I’ve come to an impasse where I’ve spent a few years of my life grinding away, so I’m not sure I could leave my work behind even I tried. I draw and design to make myself happy, trying to self fund some animation projects
I’ve done some cool things, life on wall street isn’t the hell people make it out to be. Went to cooking school, painted some murals, and did some production work throughout college.
I walked across the states in about 7 months before I went to work.
That being said, I like the calm evenings on /wg/ and watching cooking shows. I wish I could feel like this more. It feels fine to work and socialize, but when I get home I remember that I’d rather be thousands of miles from anybody I know. I dream about going to space one day, just having a notebook, pen, and some whiskey to explore the skies. Maybe I’ll just get an island or something and just be alone with the waves.
Sounds dumb I know, but that’s all I have in me on a sunday with a few drinks in me
