Mine died last Saturday, so I feel your pain. He was very close to me as well. He lived across the globe from me, so I visited him every summer. Due to covid didn't get to visit him for past two years, but finally got a chance to do so in December. Three weeks after I left he died. I'm still processing that OP, and I'm sure you will too for a while, but keep being the man your gramps would continue to be proud of.
