Think about when you die. What happens?
1. You go to heaven or hell, for eternity. Obviously, ones more preferable than the other, but I think even eternal happiness is something you can think of later in life. Anything "eternal" would be boring. Would you want to live for 1 million years, just to see everyone and everything pass behind you? You have time to think about this when you're 50 or 60, after your kids and grandkids all move on with their lives without you.
2. You become a ghost. Going back to becoming a ghost, observing the sadness of your death, that DOESN'T last long. If you think people will pity and give more attention for your unfortunate pain or death, then you're wrong. People forget about one's death pretty quickly. On the other hand, there are those few who DO mourn your death and suffer for a long period time. That's YOUR responsibility because YOU died. If you're gonna go out, at least be responsible about it.
3. You ceast to exist. Imagine a world where you were never even born. I'm talking about your family, friends, pet, enemies, living on without any acknowledgement of your existence in the world. Now, write in detail about it. Draw pictures, etc. Is it a happy one?
The only helpful advice I can give you is this: travel around the world, with no MONEY, no plans, just Forrest Gump style. If you need to eat and drink? Earn, beg, steal. You'll realize that there are >6 billion people in the world who are worse than the position you're in. I guarantee you your life will never be the same after that.
If that doesn't work, use the Friedrich Nietzsche approach. That is, if god is dead, then make a meaning of life for yourself. Life isn't about being happy all the time. It's about the dynamic journey and painful struggle. Rest is static, and eternal rest is death. Rest with a purpose, not for the sake of avoiding the struggle. Or just play Nier Automata if you don't feel like reading about Nietzsche.
