>>7235769If you want to stop the brain from eating itself, find a medication(s) that works for you. I take a medication for it and a medication to stop side effects from the 1st. The first pill I tried made me a zombie. The 2nd was over 400 without insurance. After I found a combo that worked, I never looked back.
Odds are, you're in for the long haul. I hate to say that, but odds of you having no symptoms are low, and you'll find that medication manages the symptoms, but doesn't cure the disease. That's what we can do about it so far, but research has shown that schizophrenia is targeted in 8 zones, and all we need is medication that targets these individual zones to be made and distributed.
If you want to give up, that's natural, but it's not the right move. I don't know you, but you probably have people that care about you. If you don't, you can always find someone to talk to or share thoughts with, and over time, chemistry can develop. The only thing you need to realize is that you're worth it. Your voices may tell you otherwise, but as someone suffering with schizophrenia, my voices are my bitch, and you can make your voices your bitch, too.
I'm not gonna tell you that you're fine. You have a disease that affects 1% of the world. You won the genetic lottery, but if you can hold down a job or deal with the stress of a relationship, then you're already better off than I am, and if you're not there yet, you can get there. All you need to remember is that you're worth it, and that some random chemical imbalance isn't going to beat you. You deserve happiness, and you have an inner strength you don't realize you have that can get you there. I believe in you, and I think i'm not the only one here that feels that way. As long as you keep on keeping on, you're golden, cause that's all that can be asked of anyone, really.
