I just got to the end of episode 24, when the girls leave, and as "Call Me, Call Me" starts up I just cannot continue. It hits too hard, somehow. It's just so lonely to the point of being painful. I haven't felt this way about fiction since I was a little kid. It's nuanced now, and it doesn't feel like the end of the world or anything ridiculous like that. But I've tried to keep watching it a few times now and I can't get more than 30 seconds in. It's not cathartic at all. It's just painful.
