>>7118184You hit the nail on the head OP - they're monuments to how collectively amazing we are, a stage for everyone to show off their purpose and look in on others', no matter how esoteric. They speak to me of how far we've come, but also of how there's still work to be done, endless, iterative improvements to make for the human condition. Living in a city makes me feel like I've got a part to play in the engine of human history.
