my recommendations include:
Book: Brave New World (Business) because I've never related to a character more than John the Savage, and it's a great commentary on the world I feel/fear we are becoming. Desensitized through pleasure, with plateauing means to escapism.
(Pleasure) American Gods by Neal Gaiman (simply because it's an interesting read) or the Seasons of the Dragon series by Weis & Hickman because Tanis is another thoroughly relatable main character to myself personally, but also it has a great mixture of adult responsibility and comic relief.
TV Show: The Americans. It's just a great role reversal spy saga which shows conflict through the eyes/perspective of those whom we often identify as our enemies.
Also, Taskmaster (UK contest show) because it's insanely funny and it's interesting to see how different minds might accomplish the same task they are challenged with.
Movie: After the Dark (2013) it's a great watch centered around a university philosophy classes discussions on the meaning of life/what makes life meaningful. Objectivity vs Substance.
Out Cold (2001) a stoner movie based on snowboarders in a remote Alaskan town. One of Zach Galifinakis' first movies. Criminally underrated if you're looking for a casual laugh.
