Diesel instead of steam, obviously.

In general, everything is dirtier, especially the sky. Technology level is also a bit farther, usually around late WW1.

I'd like to see something like "electrikpunk" or some shit, something where Tesla's work became the driving force of civilization. It was free for everyone and everything he intended. Aesthetically, it sorta looks like his coils, but people have taken liberties. And finally, everything is clean.

You should read the book "Leviathan", it's more than just a bit steampunk, it's like....biopunk or some shit. And actually takes place during (a fictionalized version of) World War 1, so I claim it's thread related.
