Where I grew up, my house's backyard faced out onto a park. There was a swing set maybe thirty metres from my house that was there for me through my childhood and into adolescence. I specifically remember the smell of rust on my hands from gripping it so tightly, and the feeling of a pinched finger when it got caught in-between the links.
Two years ago, we received an eviction notice because the landlord got approval to level the entire block of townhomes. They wanted to build a condo, and they didn't care that in order to do it they had to evict us in February.
Seeing this pape brings back the feeling of swinging high at dust, when the sun has set but the sky is still lit up, and I'm looking towards my childhood home.
