He died in his sleep despite travelling to different countries in order to seek treatment, spending hundreds of thousands per month, and having the support of tens of thousands of fans.
He died in 1980 holding a bible in his hands which he got from an evangelist visiting him in the hospital. Steve McQueen did not want to die and went through great lengths in order to survive longer, but he could not. He would have been around 80 years old today.

Like, you go to sleep, and then you never wake up again... Gone for all eternity... imagine that... This kind of existentialist fear or anxiety can drive people insane....
