Those 15 states I mentioned are constitutional carry (ie. no license, permit or anything). There are 41 states that shall issue concealed carry permits in practice total (including the 15 CC states). Only 9 US states are may issue or non-issuing in practice but may still allow open carry in certain areas.

For example, you can order an entire AR15 less the lower in the US with absolutely no legal hoops in every US state, they ship to your door. The lower has to ship to a FFL holder and you need a background check for it. Another method is taking a partially completed receiver that ships to your door and you finish it at home (80% firearm). This allows you to essentially make an entire AR15 at home shipped to your door, no license, no background check, nothing, in every US state. It is also not limited to ARs, people make Glocks, 1911s, 22s, AKs etc at home. Black powder firearms are also not regulated in the US (as in some other countries) and are not regulated at all. This is on top of the fact that the US already has hundreds of million of regulated firearms as well, the actual number of total firearms in the US is likely much higher (there are semi-official estimates ranging from 400 million to nearly a billion firearms in the US, the closest official one is around 420 million).
