I'm not a LEGO expert but does anyone remember an old lego theme from like 1999-2000ish that involved, like, mining and cave exploration? I vaguely remember various drilling vehicles, and glowing minerals. Tried searching but I kept getting newer stuff. Thanks

A ton of these had great aesthetics, and there are so few wallpapers made of these.

Also now that I have the resources to actually buy some of this shit for myself now, I am confronted with the reality of them not being available (except online auctions for 4-5 times the price)

When I was a kid, I would look at large posters and catalogs that looked like these forever imagining getting the sets, or designing somthing more than a house or car. I think I still have them, along with all the Legos.

I did the same thing. I still have all my LEGOs, but lost the catalogs a long time ago.

What's funny is in images like >>7702076 I can now spot stuff like how the green foam isn't entirely covered by the blue paint, but it doesn't matter - those tiny flaws give it SOUL which their modern CGI counterparts lack.
