>>7751607this reminds me of a story my grandpa told me and my cousins when i was a kid
he was around 9-13 years old when the germans were occuping the place, he grew up in lower brittany
germans were making minefileds all around. they used to also make false signs and put them everywere to scare people, the way to spot the trues to the false minefield was to see the language of the sign. if the minefield sign was writen in german it was a real one, and if writen in french it had good change to be false (not always tho)
>gramps one day he decided learning french was annoing, so he got out at night with some friends and stole a minefield sign (just happend to be a german one to) and put it on the road beside the school>school day arrives, the teachers are not sure if its real or not but they can't have kids going around and they don't realy want to look closer. they decide to send someone to the village and ask the german patrol what to do>german patrol not in town, wait for the next day>next day, patrol passes by so the teacher ask what to do, the german who speak french isn't that good at it and have a hard time understanding what is going on, he thinks the locals want them to remove an actual minefield. he says that won't happen>few days passes by, gramps and friend have a blast watching their moms annoy the germans every time they passes by the town. at some point they check their maps and find no minefield, "alright we gonna send guys to check it">another few days passes. the germans come and check the field, they find nothing at all>missed scholl for almost two weeks, having fun with the bois
