With that said, it also has a tremendous advantage of being physically separated from the rest of the civilized world by two large oceans. That makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible to invade. Life on easy mode. Russia, or USSR, as it was, is the only other entity, which was able to stand up to the US, enough to create the cold war. A country much weaker and poorer than the US still had the will and ingenuity to rebuild after the decimation of WW2 and build an army, economy, and space program, which made US spend huge resources to oppose. Ukraine has made zero scientific or social contribution to the world, except when it was part of the old USSR, so it doesn't concern me in the least. That's my two cents. My counter legit quesiton is why suport Ukraine?
