>>1112980Of course the virus is real, and it probably kills people more often than the flu or whatever, but to me it seems alarmingly obvious that governments, the media, and healthcare all are working in tandem to exploit this pandemic for their own ends.
Not like a coordinated tribunal-style conspiracy, but just the same cynical shit each respective party has always been doing, just with a united theme: Only We Can Deliver You From This Hell We Have Created.
In the case of the media, it's the perfect chaser after four years of 24/7 Trump coverage. It comes with all the moral superiority they enjoyed those past four years and at least up until October, people were glued to their sets before they realized that nothing's changing soon.
In the case of the government(ANY government), lockdowns and mask ordinances might not put us in a City-17 hellscape, but the precedents that are being set now will surely be cited when emergency powers are used for more alarming purposes. Also, in the case of the US government, they're weaponizing the virus against black people, but nothing new there.
Finally, the most insidious actor in all of this, the fucking healthcare industry. They're ballooning covid statistics(flu patient dies=covid death) so that they get more funding from the government and to extend the pandemic.
Maybe I'm edgy, but this whole pandemic has whithered away my desire to be my brother's keeper and now I just don't care about anybody. They can all go to hell. I hate them.
