>Mamoru Takamura (not a MC)Side character from Hajime no Ippo, very cocky and thinks he's number one but can be serious when it's needed, only thing he takes seriously is boxing and fucks around during the anime mostly.
>Sanson (not a MC)Side character from Nadia: Secret of Blue Water, has incredible chad energy, a pretty serious guy but fits the "Ash Williams" feel out of your characters I'd say. He's one of my favourite characters in fiction too.
>Gene from God HandCocky (game has a dedicated taunt button), comedic, incredibly strong, not an idiot but not a genius.

Haven't seen them but Space Cobra and City Hunter's main characters might also have this character type as well. Joey Wheeler also gives off that energy but I doubt you'd wanna watch Yugioh just for him. Might also suggest Jackie Chan movies around the mid to early 2000s, they're comedies of course and he's not really cocky, but I feel he gives off a "Booster Gold" energy.
