I forgot about Gibson. I do have Neuromancer though. PKD was just perfect at the dystopian world building. I crave it. It'll help me with my future writings.

In terms of Scifi, Clarke, Asimov, Lem, Bradbury and maybe some others are at the same level.
I dont know anyone at the same "vibe" of Pratchett, but maybe Douglas Adams resembles his humouristic parts, being so british and all.
To Murakami... I'd say Paul Auster as writing "slice of life mixed with surrealism" stuff, maybe, or perhaps Amelie Nothomb?

Thats an interesting choice, I looked up a basic overview of the series. And its basically a Chinese alien invasion story? Do you have any other Chinese author recommendations, that are aren't alien invasion related?

Possibly try To the Stars by Hieronym. Not a physical book, but very well written, and has a very interesting semi-dystopian world. Unfinished, unfortunately, but what I read seems good so far.

The Chinese are making an epic TV series out of it, Season One based on the first book is out, very good, if you liked the books you'll love this:

They follow the book fairly well, though they toned down how brutal the Maoists were, they're now just a bit too stern due to being obsessed with their work. :) Still it's a pretty darn good series.

How in the world they'll film the next two parts I have no idea!
