A bit of a weird ask but does anyone know what these circular bodies of water are called? From what I can tell they're mostly found at nuclear power plant sites and at first I thought it was sewage treatment because they're very similar to ones used at sewage treatment plants but nuclear power plants don't generate sewage that needs treating in this way. They do have water treatment but everything I've seen or read has a different way of treating the water for metals before being dumped back into the sea

The only information I've found is them being called "aero tanks" or "aeroten tanks" which when I searched for didn't relate back to these bodies of water in this image
