If you don't have anything important to do today, I would invest the time fucking with it. When I started when I was young I'd lose my patience and we were just doing it to be mischievous teenagers trying to get into places.
Over time I learned.
What you'd look for is something like those disposable gift cards in stores. Those are the best. Shit, I wonder if they care if you just take one and leave the store with it since they have no value until you pay?
But something like that or a credit card are the only two things I'd consider. Have those on hand and you have the thing you need. If none of those would work (either credit card strong enough, but not flexible enough) or the other card is too flexible and therefore not strong enough to push the locking mechanism, then I'd give up on that method.
But it is really tricky. After you've done it for years, it really comes naturally. Second nature just kicks in and you get it.
Takes practice though you might not master it today, but it's a good skill to have.
