Tried to post this on biz but I can’t understand their email verification system so hopefully I can request you guys to help me answer this

So I have a question if there is anyway to avoid irs tax withholding penalties. I think it is ridiculous that I can’t just invest what i would pay into withholdings into a safe 5% annually return savings account then at tax season pay the government what I owe. Does anybody know a work around for this?
