i know this is probably middle school level chemistry but science has always been the type of class i'm a mega retard in and all the online documentation of how to do things has different ways of explaining things, and my chem professor pretty much just reads through a script that briefly explains things once
basically my question is, is this the right way to solve these problems? i feel like i'm missing something here, do i assume that all the carbon atoms are neutrally charged in the skeletal structures or do i have to find their charges in order to find the charge of the atoms with the *? or would it even matter since a formal charge is only dependent on how many electrons are connected to an atom?
also, whats the answer for the first bonus question?
