Exercise Blackpill

No.19987288 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Exercise is unhealthy.
There has never been any scientific evidence that point to exercise being healthy.
Exercise is a type of stress, and like all types of stress, it ages the body by releasing free radicals and causing inflammation.

To debunk the obvious counter-arguments, first,
>But there ARE studies!
Yes. These are association studies.
But these studies don't hold much value when you realize that they don't control for enough variables.
When you DO control for enough variables, it becomes clear that exercise does not help.

>But I can run for longer while you have to catch your breath after a short jog!
Yes, this is called fitness. Health and fitness are two different things.
You can adapt your body to have more stamina, but that stamina does not translate into you living longer.
>But our ancestors exercised a lot!
You can't know that.
Stuff like "Endurance hunting" has been long-debunked, yet midwits still like to use it to prove that humans are meant to run long distances.

As for drawbacks of exercise, here is a list how exercise damages you:
>High risk of injury
>Long-term exercise can chronically fuck up your knees, back and joints all over your body
>Overtraining will age you quicker
>You will suffer the same effects as being obese if you bulk up
>It wastes your time, because it's not really useful

Look at top-athletes in their 30s-50s. They look like they are 20 years ahead in their biological age.
The only reason exercise became popular in the first place was as a weight-loss measure.
And I admit, if you can lose weight with exercise, then exercise can be healthy, the same way a salad can be healthy, despite salads having close to 0 nutritional value.

There is another thing. Human need a base amount movement to maintain their bodies.
But this threshold is quickly met through frequent stretching and some walking.
