If I want to short a stock, let's say the price is 100USD a share, and it has a fee of 10.00 (0.1%) and I sell 100 shares for 10000USD, does this mean I'd have to pay 1000 dollars in fees every day until I return the 100 shares? or does the interest you pay change based on how much you still owe?
im trying to understand why you'd ever short unless a stock is plummeting or the interest is incredibly low

Don't spot prices or you'll get heem'd. If it gets near that range start poking at it because when it reverses it will rip upwards. A lot of anon missed the 2023 bottom because they kept saying it would go lower.

Also if we see a true 10% correction VOO will drop to 432. Any lower and you start to touch Bear Market territory and if that is true you won'tbe slurpin you'll be fuckin.

Also bear market is 386. So the Range of 386-432 is prime buy zone. Don't count in it because if the market rips up and goes back to testing new ATHs you'll be the one getting rape corrected.

You can't time a bottom because they happen extremely quick. It's playing roulette.

Yea I don't understand that with an iron condor unless you are approved for level 3 options trading and are able to temporarily exceed the buying power of your account. that's what happened to me when I first started trading options. I had my main account with my actual holdings and then I had a play account that I was able to convince the Schwab wagie to approve for level 3 options and then I would sell naked spy options in excess of my accounts buying power. And they allowed me to do it because they thought I was going to deposit money from my main account to cover it. But instead i would just close the position out. But sometimes they would close the position out for me if it was going against me. Haven't had that problem since I went down to level 2 and stay within the buying power of the account.

Sounds like your broker's process to liquidate got fucked somewhere along the way. The parts of the condor are supposed to offset each other so the margin shouldn't get out of whack. At expiry you have to exercise all the options individually so you DO need the money to buy the shares, but if your broker was closing positions to manage risk it should have closed full condors and not the parts. Sounds like they were trying to close the condor but parts of it didn't fill, which makes no sense if it was on QQQ.

i dont really know what went so horribly wrong. I thought I could just let the IC expire and then take the loss from the purchase. my broker didnt liquidate the entire 4 parts as far as I can see. this particular stack of 50 contracts was supposed to expire on friday. its made a complete fuckin mess of it all. because the contracts where otm im guessing it caused margin to sky rocket and so auto liquidation happened, I think this has caused extra loss over and above the 100% loss of the ICs.
I need to try phone the broker and see if they can fix this fuckin mess.

This definitely sounds like a nigger broker problem or your own ignorance as to how your broker handles expired contracts. Were your long puts OTM but your short puts were ITM? Because that could be bad. But if the market blew past both strikes you should have been capped at the $1 per share loss, which on a 50 lot would be $5000. So they were ITM then which is why you got assigned. But in that scenario they should have definitely auto exercised the long puts too and capped the loss to the $1 per share (buy shares from the short puts and then sell shares $1 lower from the long puts). But it sounds like they didn't do that but instead did a combination of closing out some of the short puts at a loss and then assigning you on 3 contracts worth of shares, and then did nothing with the long contracts ( maybe they gave you the cash value on the long puts if you didn't call them to exercise them manually) which is maybe ok.

Yea I think if you sell the shares on Monday you should be fine. Would $34k cash in your account after selling the shares (124 minus 90) make sense? Like would that be about how much cash you should have if the condor executed the way you thought?

Pretty shitty of course but I have learned you stick to the rules and you will always make a profit. I never stay in a trade longer than 15 mins. This last week is a great example of what you are talking about though because if I just held the Puts I bought at 0945 for several hours instead of making $1200 on a 10 min scalp I could have made $20,000 dropping them at like 1 or 2PM. But doing it how I do it I haven't ended a week in the red at all YTD. Last time was when I was still learning last half of last year.

I'm not saying I'm doing it the most efficient way but I am now on track to make more than my wagie job just doing this simple bullshit and that's way plenty for me.

That was my scenario as well. It's like our initial instincts to buy puts on the open were right but when they are showing you a few thousand in profit within minutes it's tough not to take it right then and there. But then it feels shitty when you realize it could have been a $50k play. But I suppose playing like that will have you lose more often too so I'm trying to learn to not concern myself with the coulda woulda shoulda after I exit

I dunno what you need a book for what I am doing, it's relatively simple. I use HMA and EMA (I like to see both because I have found when they both agree on something at the same time it's a really great entry/exit), RSI, and watch volumes all in ThinkOrSwim. Have absolute-live-data turned on so you are getting the absolute fastest read possible (sometimes I have trades that make me $1000 in literally 8 seconds) and there you go.

I dunno, I would suggest you sign up with Schwab if you want to do this. I have heard many brokerage firms don't even want normies trading 0DTE. Apparently Fidelity I think it was won't even let normalfag customers touch 0DTE Options unless they have a 1+ million dollar account with them. Schwab gives you millisecond-live data, fully supports this type of scalping, and has excellent fills. This week in fact they somehow got me above market for a Sell fill of like 6 cents per contract which ended up being $800 in my pocket.

I usually once again play it safe and buy ATM/ITM. ThinkOrSwim shows contract volume and interest so I'll watch that too and make sure whichever strike I'm looking at has plenty of transactions occurring so I can easily buy and then dump without delay.

i think i get it, the earliest years are a waking nightmare i hear. For me I'm also a bit antinatalist and taking responsibility for a poor unfortunate soul who was born into this world of shit is far more ethical than making one yourself. Also you're in Germany so it's extra understandable.
