>>2768981If one looks carefully enough, they'll realize how many hidden cues there are in Rebuild designed to upset people who like the original show.
For example, the blatant blood in the sky and orange ocean are attempts to mislead people into believing that Rebuild is a sequel to the original (even though it's shown in the second film that those are thanks to Second Impact in that continuity).
There's also the new character of Shikinami, who's name change is an insult to the original character and her new mary sue personality is meant to destroy everything that made Soryu interesting and worthwhile.
Mari exists to break up the original pilot trinity, as well as the original trio of important women in Shinji's life. She also acts as a spit in the face of the characters of the original, as she lacks the backstory, creativity, and depth of their backgrounds, present and future.
The massive change in plot from 1.0 to 2.0 and 3.0 serves to act as another insult. 1.0 is relatively faithful to the original, and suddenly, without warning, 2.0 is vastly different, and then 3.0 even more so. While there is nothing wrong with creating a vastly different continuity, intentionally starting off similar to the original and quickly changing course is a blatant tactic to offend fans of the original plot.
Finally (for now), Rei Q acts to destroy the original concept of the Dummy Plug Plant, and splits Rei from one entity to many more. She also is used as an insult to the original characer, as she envisions exactly what Rei haters believe Rei to be: an emotionless ragdoll.
This is a short summary of the many horrible things that Rebuild represents and brings to the franchise. I hope other anons understand what I'm saying and agree, so we may spread word of Anno's campaign to destroy Neon Genesis Evangelion as we know it, and make a shit load of cash while he's at it.
