>>3508031>Isn't the area around Hyrule Castle based on a typical euro fantasy settingYes it is. It has a lot of features I would expect from an older Euopean styled fantasy. A bustling market place, tight alleyways, soldiers in armor, a real castle with a moat, a throne room, etc.
>Wouldnt that mean they ate typical foods like wheat, dairy, and red/white meatsI don't really like assuming these kinds of things, but you would probably be correct. We at least see milk being delivered, plenty of cows for red meat, and plenty of chickens for eggs/meat.
>since I don't know how bad everything is fucked up Post-GanonThat is the important destinction here.
But before I expand on this, I would like to state that the kinds of food and drink we see are seen with the Hylians, a distinct group of people. However, my Sheik is not a Hylian, but a Sheikah. The Sheikah are a tribal people. Sure, they are subservient to the King of Hyrule, but they are there own group. Tribes tend to not eat like those in a feudalistic type society would eat, even if they are in contact with each other. Since Sheik is created with the "perfect Sheikah disguise" in mind, she would have a palate like other Sheikah. But to add complications to this, she inherits Zelda's memories, which includes memories of foods and their tastes. She might also have a longing for those types of foods that Hylians eat, even if she is a Sheikah. There is no way for me to know for sure.
But back to Ganon ruining everything. That tends to throw any and all food assumptions and such out the window. Someone on the run and in hiding will not be able to eat the same kind/quality of foods they grew to enjoy, especially if someone harmed the soil and killed most of the animals. Plus, seven whole years of eating this would change her tastes substantially. So in summary, I know nothing about her tastes.
I just know that I hope to introduce her to a much richer and diverse set of food that she could enjoy!
