I imagine it would be pretty hard to -not- be the bright-eyed rookie when you're recruited at 18/19 (I'm not an expert on the British armed forces, but I'm assuming the SAS doesn't produce many operatives at that age; then again, I also assume the RAF doesn't produce many pilots at that age, either). Although I have to admit, I wouldn't mind seeing her become more like that over time as a form of character development, just so long as she remains recognizable; like, she's still the same person and adheres to her ideals, but she learns through experience to apply them more pragmatically. For example, she could have tagged his gauntlet and disabled his main weapon if she sought a non-lethal approach, assuming she carried her bombs at the time. It may be coincidental, but I too like to think that, canonically speaking, that incident is what convinced her to start carrying heavier ordnance. Gah, now I want to see a buddy cop movie about Officers Oxton and Song.
Sweet, thanks for the recommendations. I admit I'm leaning more toward Red Alert, mainly because I love alternate history scenarios, but I'm open to anything.
