That said, even if they were aware, I couldn’t fault them too much for being a bit hostile. If someone broke into your house and smashed up your china cabinet full of irreplaceable heirlooms from your dead grandma, and you knew they weren’t sorry, even if you found out they were an orphaned cancer patient, you’d still be peeved. In general, I think some people–and I’m not pointing fingers because I think you’ve actually had a rather measured response so far–have a tendency to fixate on her backstory and forget she’s still a -murderer- who might have helped spark an unnecessary world war. We can debate the ethics of her circumstances until the moon falls into the Pacific, but at the end of the day, those are just the facts, and they need to be confronted with understanding, empathy and clarity where each is appropriate.
And yes, we can always just chalk the issue up to the Chu Crew not thinking ahead and have a hearty chortle. For whatever else we may disagree on, that will always be our banner to unite around.
Sorry, everyone! This is probably the single most unpleasant and open to interpretation aspect of the series; I -knew- this discussion was coming, and I -knew- it would be intense. But it’s five days until Christmas, so let’s try to chill and have fun now.
>>3325218I've actually blocked that channel with an add-on as part of my campaign to sequester myself for a period. Please describe it or post a link, and I may consider if A) characters I like are involved and B) they aren't mocked, belittled, abused, et cetera. I realize that’s a silly concern to have for something ostensibly Christmas-y, but I've come to develop it as a Pavlovian response whenever I hear there’s a new release.
