I actually like Emily quite a bit. Not so much for who she is (only because we don't really know much about her), but for the role she serves. So much about Tracer is just painful or doesn’t seem to work out. I think without her, you’re just left with an unyielding arc of futility. Emily allows for her to have something that's actually loving, positive and encouraging and gives her more of a personal reason to keep fighting, which I think has potential. So I think she's fine, but I'll admit she'd be finer if there was more to her, which I'm hopeful we will eventually get.
Would you be more onboard with her if she was an endearingly awkward weirdo who was just as nice as her girlfriend, really into Tolkien and played the mandolin? Because that’s my headcanon interpretation of her. I base it on nothing more than she looks like a girl I knew in school who had a trapper keeper filled with drawings of elves and dragons.
Whoo, I apologize to you and everyone for ranting as well, but when you have to wait what’s looking to likely be over a whole year, it’s just nice to vent this stuff and get it out of your system every once in a while.
