The Jesus-comparisons are really stupid for both in all honesty, and even for Kaworu, who is just a man-made puppet for SEELE without more pretty sensibilities than sense.
Rei isn't "jesus" either, but at least get the character right.
She's Lilith, or simplified an ancient ur-being that is given a human body, this human body being a manufactured, specially engineered body made from Yui and Angel, in a sense the offspring between man and angel.
That's the canon.
She doesn't have Yui's soul, that is embedded in EVA01 - Rei's soul is her own - Lilith being another name for what Rei is.
