>>3193346I think that might be a part of it, but I also think she genuinely hasn't been portrayed very well; liking her a lot just makes it sting more. Her whole character revolves around taking the initiative to make a difference, yet nothing she's done has really mattered, we regularly find ourselves waiting for ages to see her again after something terrible happens to her, and her most dire hardships have gone without much or any comment or development from her. That's not being a waifufag, that's just recapping the facts. I think that's a poor way to treat a character no matter who they are. Take Symmetra, for example: her only canon appearance was over two years ago, and it also ended with her miserable and not really achieving anything, which I also don't like.
Blizz really hasn't done a good job living up to the message of hope they were pushing from day one. They -say- they want to tell the story, but the distribution of materials has slowed to a less than a crawl in the past six months, so who knows. Maybe they're planning something big, because the first half of 2017 was also really slow but picked up immensely in the second half, even if I didn't like how it started. As cynical as some may be, I'm cautiously optimistic things will eventually pick up for reasons I've already covered in far more depth than is healthy up above; and they've been preoccupied with a new WoW expansion in the past few months, which I think is something to take into consideration. I'll leave you with this nugget of hope to hold onto: from where Lena currently is, things can only improve for her, and she hasn't gotten her own short yet, which means the best for her is yet to come. She wouldn't lose hope, so we shouldn't either.
